The Best Fudge Brownies

"Okay, really?" you say, "Another boring brownie recipe? No crazy things like Nutella or Heath Bars added in? Just regular old brownies? How uninspired our Yammie is. She's even trying so desperately to reclaim her originality simply by adding the word "best" in the title. As if nobody has ever claimed to have "the best brownie recipe" before. We are ashamed of her. We are leaving this boring blog and never coming back. Because it's lame. And unoriginal. Goodbye".

See, I told you it was for your own good. How could something so wonderful not be for your own good? And I don't mean your physical good. Oh heavens, no. I mean your spiritual good. This is nourishment for the soul, my friends.  This is the brownie recipe that will end your search for the perfect brownie recipe once and for all. That is, if you like your brownies lusciously dense, rich, chocolaty, crackly topped, and artery clogging. Which you do.

And quit whining that I'm not being creative enough. Once you taste them, you'll understand that to add anything else would simply be overpowering. Although, it has been done.


The Best Fudge Brownies
Adapted from a recipe from my dear friend, Pheebs 

2 sticks of butter
2 1/4 cups of sugar
4 large eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 1/4 cups of cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups chocolate chips

Grease a 9x13 in. pan. and preheat the oven to 350ยบ.
Mix together the butter and sugar in a microwave safe bowl. Heat in the microwave, stirring about every 30 seconds, until the mixture is bubbly and smooth (you can also do it on the stove top if you want). Add in the eggs and vanilla and beat until smooth. Mix together the cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and flour and add to the butter mixture, mixing until smooth. Stir in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the pan. Bake for about 28 minutes.

  8. Can you give use a tip on what kind of cocoa powder you used, is it Dutch-process cocoa? And did you use semisweet, bittersweet or milk chocolate chips? Thanks!

  9. I didn't use dutch-process, but you definitely could. I didn't this time, but I have before and they turned out great. I also usually use semi-sweet chocolate chips, but any will work. I like a combination of all of the above!

  11. in the recipe it says 2 cups of chocolate chips does it have to be chocolate chips or can you use baking chocolate or even normal milk chocolate ?

  12. This has to be the best brownies I've ever made. I didn't have chocolate chips so I broke up a chocolate bar in chunks and it turned out great!

  13. Is there anything you could use besides two "sticks of butter". I don't know if that's an actual measurements or not,but ccan I substitute that with a cup of margarine or something?

  21. Brownies in oven. Let them baked for 28 minutes. Still gooey in middle. Baked 5 more minutes still gooey. Baking 5 more minutes. Now they seem to be done. So more like 38 minutes to be done. Anyone else experience this?
