Chocolate Covered Strawberry Milkshake

Happy Single Awareness Day, my friends. Or "Valentine's Day" to those of you who are more romantically inclined.

Now, most people might sit and cry on Single Awareness Day. They might buy themselves heart shaped boxes of chocolate and eat them in a corner, alone. They might devour entire jars of Nutella dwelling upon their lost loves of yesteryear. Single tears may run down their cheeks when they open their mailboxes to find nothing but cobwebs.

Well, not me. I like Single Awareness Day. Just because you don't have a Valentine, doesn't mean you have to be lonely. I've got plenty of love in my life. I would never sit and eat a whole box of chocolates alone because my brothers and sisters would have already eaten all the good ones. Instead of cobwebs I get a bunch of scribbly homemade Valentines. And as for eating entire jars of Nutella? Well, that was going to happen anyways, regardless of my emotional status.

So, I guess what I'm really trying to say is that you shouldn't be sad if you aren't having a romantic candlelit evening tonight. There are other kinds of loves that are just as important. So buck up and have a good day.

And if you didn't plan a way to celebrate, here's a 5 minute, three ingredient way to do it. Just strawberries, vanilla ice cream, and some hot fudge.

I didn't have hot fudge so I made sort of a ganache. It was sort of a throw-everything-you-can-find-in-the-microwave-and-hope-for-the-best sort of deal. It turned out pretty good.

Also, I used this Ninja master thing instead of a blender because I don't have a blender here. I really like it and want to get one for my very own. I mean, it's called a Ninja. It obviously must be awesome.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Milkshake
Serves 2 or 3

3 1/2 cups strawberries, cut up
2 cups vanilla ice cream

Beat in a blender. Add a little milk if necessary. My ice cream a little on the soft side so I didn't need any. Top with hot fudge and a strawberry.

For Hot Fudge:
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips (I used 2 Hershey Bars actually)
1/4 cup cocoa powder

Melt the butter in the microwave until bubbly. Stir in the chocolate chips until melted. Return to microwave if necessary. Add cocoa powder and stir till smooth.
