I first developed the recipe back in 2011. I've made them approximately one bajillion times since. I get requests for them so much in fact, that I decided it was time for a revival, a fresh new post with fresh new photos. You all must know the glory of the most delicious granola bars on the planet.

What would you use to substitute for peanut butter? Marshmallows?
ReplyDeleteThese are f**king delicious. I made them for my kids but I am not ashamed to admit I ate almost half the tray. The proportions are perfect, don’t change a thing in that respect.
ReplyDeleteI did change one ingredient though. I used a pea-protein based vanilla protein powder in place of the flour. They stayed together pretty well (the same as Quaker chewy bars).
I thought I would keep them in the fridge but they got really hard (probably the butter and peanut butter) so I just kept them in an airtight Tupperware on the counter and they lasted about 4 days (because we ate them all, not because they went bad or anything).
Cook time was on the nose for my convection oven that automatically puts the oven down 25 degrees. The slightly crispy edges are the best part *drool*.
