Chocolate Granola

Granola is my weakness.

Oh and chocolate. That's my other weakness.

Put them together and what have you got? A female sumo wrestler named Yammie. Oh, and don't forget her sumo apprentice brother, Tay. Yammie feeds him pounds of granola, and though he can consume up to 5 quarts a day, he somehow maintains his reputation as the lamest, twiggiest sumo wrestler in all the land. Yammie does not understand. She will have to add a few sticks of butter to her granola next time.

Or just serve it to him smothered in Nutella.

Chocolate Granola

3 cups quick cooking oats
1 1/2 cups sweetened flaked coconut
2 teaspoons poppy seeds
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 teaspoon salt

Preheat oven to 250ยบ.
Combine all ingredients. Spread evenly on baking sheet. Bake for 1 hour and 20 minutes, stirring about every 20 minutes.

Serve with yogurt, milk, strawberries, dried cherries, blueberries, nutella, or all of the above. You can even layer it in a champagne glass if you want to pretend like you're as awesome as me!

Explain to me why my young apprentice is not thriving after devouring this parfait? Is it his high metabolism that is hindering his corpulence?
