I'm so glad that someone else calls them Buckeyes and that they turn out like this for you. However, we do them slightly differently. ^.^

We use the peanut butter/butter/powdered sugar/vanilla in the "dough" and we keep adding powdered sugar until it's thoroughly formed and able to be shaped into balls. Then we ball them up and freeze them as the trays get done (we do dozens at a time so there's always rotation) and then we work on melting the chocolate. We put the chocolate chips (Which we don't really measure) into a measuring cup and then we use Gulf Wax. We kind-of shred the wax, not cube or chop, so it's fine (it melts easier) and we put it into the microwave for 45 seconds and stir it briskly. If the chips still aren't melted, we put them in for another 30, stirring every 15 until the chips are melted. Be careful, as the chocolate can burn!

Then we stick a toothpick into one of the frozen peanut butter balls and then lay them out on wax paper. However, we don't worry about covering the holes the toothpicks make, but they're still yummy!TheSchoolNursehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00291132282935156235noreply@blogger.com
